Our most recent project was an extraordinary live concert recording featuring the local choir, Singkreis Maur. This event was a stunning rendition of "The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace" by the renowned composer Karl Jenkins.
The concert took place in the historic and acoustically rich Reformed Church in Maur, Zurich, Switzerland. This beautiful venue provided a perfect backdrop for the powerful and moving performance, enhancing the emotional depth and grandeur of Jenkins' composition. The choir brought the piece to life under the masterful direction of conductor David Haladjian, captivating the audience with their dynamic range and harmonious unity.

ArtNVision was tasked with capturing every nuance of this live performance. The recording environment presented unique challenges, as the church’s organ was located on the left side, complicating the setup of the main microphone array. Despite these obstacles, we utilized state-of-the-art recording equipment and a meticulous setup to ensure that the choir's powerful voices and the intricate ensemble accompaniment were recorded with clarity and balance. The unique acoustics of the Reformed Church added a special resonance to the recording, which we preserved and highlighted in our final production.

L'homme armé
The concert opened with "L'homme armé," a piece that set the tone with its compelling and rhythmic chant. Our recording captures the intensity and vigor of the choir as they delivered this medieval-inspired movement with precision and power, creating a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere.
Kyrie
"Kyrie" followed, with its profound and moving plea for mercy. The balanced harmonies and emotive phrasing by the choir, under David Haladjian's direction, were captured in exquisite detail. The recording highlights the intricate interplay between the choir and the orchestra, bringing out the solemn beauty of this piece.

The climax of the concert was undoubtedly "Charge!" With its urgent and relentless pace, this piece required precise coordination and energy. The recording captures the exhilarating intensity and the controlled chaos of the performance, showcasing the choir's and orchestra's impressive synchronization and David Haladjian's exceptional conducting skills.
